From Deal Table to Dining Table: Michelin Star Chef Jack takes on the Great British Menu finals

The national finals of Great British Menu start this week, and Mitchells will be watching one of the competing chefs with particular interest and excitement. The 2025 series, themed “Great Britons,” challenges chefs to create dishes inspired by notable figures from their region.

Jack Bond, the head chef and co-owner of the Michelin-starred restaurant, The Cottage in the Wood, has been representing northwest of England. He’s already beaten top chefs from the region to make it through to the national finals this week.

Mitchells were pleased to have played a role in helping Jack and Bethany secure their dream of owning The Cottage in the Wood last year, by providing financial advice during the deal negotiation process for the asset purchase from the previous owners.

Jack and Bethany have risen to the occasion and continue to go from strength to strength. Mitchells looks forward to seeing how Jack’s unique culinary creations will impress the judges this week and wish the couple every success with the competition and The Cottage in the Wood.
