Self Employment Income Support Scheme (SEISS)

Deadline – Important Update

If you are one of the 2.6 million self-employed traders to have claimed a self-employed income support grant, then you may need to act now.

Over 24,000 traders that have applied for the grants, just 1% of the total number of claimants, will have recieved emails from HMRC in October to clarify if they are still trading. The response was asked to be submitted by completing an online form. This is to confirm they have stopped trading and permanently closed the business. If the business ceased on or before the day they applied for the SEISS grant they will have to reply that funding.

If the trader does not respond to HMRC’s email by close of business on Friday 20 November they will be prevented from applying for further SEISS grants, so make sure to check your junk and spam boxes for emails from HMRC as soon as possible.
